use purple/plum shadows , lightgreen , silver colored ones. i have dark eyes too and i use this colours and they make eyes stand out!

Using black eye shadow with an angled brush and blending brush to make a smoky cat eye is definitely the best. You can use it to varying degrees from light to very smoky for day or night. Also you can wet the angle brush and use the eye shadow as liner instead of liquid or pencil. You could actually use the angle brush with just the angle brush and not carry any eyeliner or another eye shadow brush with you and you would have everything you need for your eyes except mascara.
plum purple really compliments that eye color; almay came out with a line that makes makeup specific to eye colors, a purple pallette was reccomended for brown eyes. it isn't too harsh and really makes your eyes pop. i have dark brown eyes too and it's my favorite eyeshadow to use, purple eyeliner with brown eyeshadow is another great combination to make your eyes pop :]

my friend has dark brown eyes and she uses it all the time but you can't use teal for you whole eye lid..... just a little above the eye lashes!
