I have black, or very very dark brown, almond-shaped eyes (I'm asian but i still have that fold thing) and olive-toned skin with yellow undertones. I'm young, so I don't want anything too dramatic! I like to keep it natural. What color eyeshadow would work best for me?
I also have a problem with powders.. they never seem to last the whole day, or even a few hours.
Also, on asian eyes, does eyeliner make them look smaller? Should I use it, and if so, what color? and on both top and bottom?Best eyeshadow color for olive skin tones?
You have 'hooded eyes'
Points:
Never use a dark shadow over the entire lid, as your eye will appear heavier and closed in.
The goal is to make the fleshy lid area 'push away' or recede and help your eyes become more prominent than your eyelid.
Only slightly highlight the browbone.
Having a beautiful brow shape makes a huge difference too.
COLOUR:
Your eye colour can suite many shades, just remember to use the 3 shade rule, use a highlight shade (lightest), Midtone Shade (neutral) and a contour shade (darkest)
Highlight Shade - Apply a little along the browbone and on top of the upper lash line
Midtone shade - Start at the base of the upper lash line and bring the colour over the entire hooded area, make sure to blend well where the highlight meets this shade.
Contour shade - Start at the base of the lashline and bring the colour up over the hooded area abit higher than what you would do on other eye shapes - this will help the hooded area recede. then sweep the contour colour along the lower lash line. You dont want to miss this step!!Best eyeshadow color for olive skin tones?
plum, gold , moss green, bronze ( Try Revlon in Blushed Wines)
From your description you have double eyelids, so eyeliner will emphasize that . Apply along the upper lash line .only. (Try Revlon colourstay eyeliner in Black Brown.)
La Splash colours are stronger , (more pigment) so have a go.
best eye-shadows for olive skin would be cool tones as opposed to warm tones, so dark purples, blues, greens, fuchsia, blue toned pinks, greys, silver, black etc, .... ones to avoid are warm tones such as yellows, oranges, khakis, yellow based greens etc...
well im asain too and the things to make ur eye pop is to use the color that goes well with ur eye color. so use white, blue, or green eyeshadow.
